Hello dear goddess!
Anita Revel here... you know, the long-lost author of "inner goddess" goodness, slowly coming out of hibernation ;-P
Since I last wrote to you, a lot has happened. Don't worry, it's good stuff. Travel, renovations, painting and creating, mothering, wifing, working through injuries and surgeries, collecting stray animals, connecting with the quiet space within...
I'm being really gentle with myself. Making a conscious effort to remove judgement and criticism from my self-talk. Entering a conscious space of self-appreciation.
I
had to up my game after experiencing injuries that put a halt to my exercise program. Without the exercise endorphins, wow, the glumness starts to pile up pretty quickly. So combatting the blues with rose-petals and kindness became a necessary thing in my life.
Mega-kindness, as it turns out, is pretty awesome, let me tell you!
I'd love you to spend the next hour, day, week (or weeks!) doing the same. Be kind, to yourself. Give back to yourself. Fill your cup. Look tenderly towards your beautiful heart and soul. Soften your eyes, relax your smile, amp up the giggles, magnify the love-hearts in your eyes...
At one time, during this journey of stepping into a bonafide space of true kindness, I had a realisation that if there was an animal that embodied self-love, it would be the peacock. So proud, so majestic, so unapologetically
gorgeous. So lately, I've been spending time in the studio painting up a series of peacock art, celebrating his gifts of protection and beauty.
If you'd like to see these beautiful fellows, and take a snippet of their self-confident beauty with you, here they are:
- Colour Me Happier (sold)
- Brave (sold)
- The Protector (sold)
- I'm Beautiful (and I Know It!)
And here are some examples of my latest piece (I'm Beautiful, And I Know It!) are re-created onto homewares and other lovely pieces...
If any of these speak to you, by all means copy-and-save your favourite one to your desktop. The more women putting "self-love" at top of mind, the merrier :D
Art is becoming more than a hobby for me lately, so in between conducting wedding ceremonies and being a mum, you'll most likely find me in the studio. Or at the end of this email if you want to hit "reply" and say hello xxx Anita
